Amazon has moved a step closer today with your ebooks presenting a eBook lending service for libraries using the Kindle platform . That is, as we go to a library to borrow a book and return it in person physically and with this new service from Amazon can do the same via Internet without leaving home.

are eleven thousand libraries that have signed on to promote this service with Amazon. With such a system called OverDrive libraries, users can log on the website of the library and borrow a book downloaded from its database for free. Once the book expires, can borrow or buy it again definitely in the Kindle Store . Perhaps most interesting is that all data related to the borrowed book (annotations, page marks …) are preserved.

Unfortunately service is only available in the United States , as it depends on the will of libraries. We do not know if you ever see this in Spain, but let’s go step by step and hopefully before the arrival of the Spanish Kindle Store in the company (and if possible, with a good catalog of books to avoid falling into what happened to Apple’s iBooks Store).
