Amazon has launched new versions of its tablet, Kindle Fire HDX, with two different sizes: 7 and 8.9 inches. The screens have better resolution than the previous, plus an improved and lighter design.
abletas third generation of Amazon has a 7-inch screen with 1,900 x 1,200 pixels (323 dots per inch), which is equal to the new Google Nexus 7 and ASUS. The 8.9-inch model has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels (339 dpi).
tablets use version 3.0 of Fire OS, the operating system of Android-based Amazon. In addition, both Kindle Fire HDX uses quad-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, which runs at 2.2GHz with an output three times the current model.
The processor is accompanied by 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 330 GPU. Amazon promises a battery life of 11 hours with mixed use of content and 17 hours of continuous reading.
8.9-inch model fronta has an 8-megapixel camera, video recording, LED flash or aperture lens with f2 / 2. For audio, it has Dolby Digital Plus technology and virtual 5.1 multichannel sound.
“It’s been two years since we introduced the first Kindle Fire, and the team is innovating at an incredible rate,” said founder and CEO of Amazon.com, Jeff Bezos.
Although no one knows the availability and the price to be in Spain, Kindle Fire 7-inch HDX goes on sale in America for $ 229 on October 18, and the 8.9-inch version will sell at a price $ 379 from November 7.
